Inspiration

As I was reading a question that the author asked puzzled me. Here it is: "Does an author have to be inspired to write?" What if the person has a talent yet they don't feel inspired? I guess that makes me wonder what is meant by inspiration. I think of inspired as being a driving force behind a person's words, thoughts, and creative works that really makes an impression on the reader. I believe that one does need inspiration. For how can a creative piece really be created and truly one's own if it is not from the heart and mind of the writer. The emotions or tone of the author has to come through the written words. Without inspiration many great works would not be around today. Inspiration is the necessary ingredient of any young or aspiring author. After mulling over this question for many days, I have decided that to truly make a work of creative genius, inspiration must be present.

So how do you get inspiration? I'm sorry to have to tell you this but it is not something that you can just buy off the internet. The inspiration that authors have come from their minds either from natural talent or through hard focus and work. Many ideas will be rejected until the author finds just the perfect one. Don't be discouraged dear reader. Hope is there for you. If you desire to write but don't feel that you have any inspiration here are some suggestions.
-use real life stories or something that is familiar for you to write about
-dreams can be revealing of your own hopes or dreams that can make a story
-go fairy tale bookish and write something different from reality
-write about things that interest you

  1. Well done, Lucie!! Love to see you doing this!! I like that you end with suggestions!

One of the ways I find inspiration is from conversations with others. I pay attention to their concerns, to problems they're trying to solve and as I think about those things (often I relate because I've struggled there too) I am able to write about things to consider when dealing with a particular problem.

So glad you're writing! Keep up the good work!
